In developing countries, like Colombia, there are many effects from natural events. They could affect the Gross National Product (GNP) and the amount of displaced people and refugees as well. Natural Risk reduction could be a priority responsibility for Colombian authorities. The Earthquake Engineering and Seismology Research Group, founded and directed by the author since 1999, is working in Seismic Microzonation for the following Colombian cities: Tunja, Barrancabermeja, Villavicencio, Ibagué, Neiva and Pasto.
